Ingredients:
- 400g spaghetti - 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil and sliced garlic. Sauté until the garlic is golden and fragrant, about 2-3 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
3. Add the red pepper flakes and stir for about 30 seconds to release their flavor.
4. Toss the drained spaghetti into the skillet with the garlic and oil. Add reserved pasta water gradually, stirring until the pasta is well coated and the sauce reaches your desired consistency.
5. Season with salt to taste and mix in chopped parsley.
6. Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
