Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

A simple and flavorful Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and chili flakes. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2 servings
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing until the garlic turns golden but not burnt.
3. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet, tossing to combine with the garlic and oil. If the pasta seems dry, add some reserved pasta water to reach your desired consistency.
4. Season with salt to taste and mix well.
5. Remove from heat and garnish with freshly chopped parsley. Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
