Ingredients:
- Spaghetti (200g)
- Olive oil (4 tablespoons)
- Garlic (4 cloves, thinly sliced)
- Red pepper flakes (1 teaspoon)
- Fresh parsley (a handful, chopped)
- Salt (to taste)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for serving)
Instructions:
1. Cook the spaghetti in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente.
2. While the pasta cooks, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic to the skillet and sauté until it turns golden brown, taking care not to burn it.
4. Stir in the red pepper flakes and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
5. Drain the spaghetti, reserving a cup of pasta water, and add it to the skillet with the garlic oil.
6. Toss to combine, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time if the mixture seems dry.
7. Stir in the chopped parsley and season with salt to taste.
8. Serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
