A simple and quick Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and chili flakes.
Preparation time: 20 minutes
Serving size: 2 servings
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red chili flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
3. Add the red chili flakes and sauté for another 30 seconds.
4. Toss the drained spaghetti into the skillet, adding a bit of the reserved pasta water to help coat the noodles. Mix well until the spaghetti is evenly coated.
5. Season with salt to taste and remove from heat.
6. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
