Ingredients:
- 400g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking until the garlic is golden brown but not burnt.
3. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet, tossing it in the garlic oil to coat.
4. If the pasta seems dry, gradually add reserved pasta water until you reach desired consistency. Season with salt to taste.
5. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired. Serve immediately.
