Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
recipe

A classic Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and red pepper flakes.
Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 4
Ingredients:
- 400g spaghetti
- 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
2. While the pasta cooks, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic to the skillet and sauté until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
4. Stir in the red pepper flakes and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
5. Once the pasta is cooked, reserve a cup of pasta water and then drain the spaghetti.
6. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the garlic oil. Toss to coat the pasta evenly, adding reserved pasta water as needed to create a light sauce.
7. Season with salt to taste and mix in the chopped parsley.
8. Serve hot, garnished with additional parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
