Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden brown, about 2 minutes.
3. Add the red pepper flakes to the skillet and stir for about 30 seconds to release their flavor.
4. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet, tossing it with the garlic and oil mixture. If the pasta seems dry, add some reserved pasta water a little at a time until you reach your desired consistency.
5. Season with salt to taste and toss in the chopped parsley.
6. Serve hot, garnished with additional parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
