Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until it becomes golden brown, being careful not to burn it.
3. Add the red pepper flakes and stir for about 30 seconds to release their flavor.
4. Toss the cooked spaghetti into the skillet, mixing well to coat the pasta with the garlic oil. If the pasta seems dry, add some reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired consistency is reached.
5. Season with salt to taste and remove from heat.
6. Serve immediately, garnished with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
