Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
- Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté until the garlic is golden and fragrant, about 2 minutes.
3. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet, tossing to coat with the garlic oil. If the pasta seems dry, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until you reach your desired consistency.
4. Season with salt to taste and toss in chopped parsley.
5. Serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
