Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

A simple and flavorful Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and red pepper flakes. Preparation Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients:
- 400g spaghetti - 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta. 2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté until the garlic is golden but not burnt, about 2-3 minutes.
3. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss to coat in the garlic oil. If the pasta seems dry, add some reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired consistency is reached.
4. Season with salt to taste and garnish with chopped parsley. Serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
