Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

A classic Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and chili flakes. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2 servings
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water and drain the rest.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and cook until golden and fragrant, about 2 minutes.
3. Add the red pepper flakes to the skillet and stir to combine.
4. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet, tossing to coat in the garlic oil. If the pasta seems dry, add a bit of the reserved pasta water.
5. Season with salt to taste and toss in the chopped parsley.
6. Serve immediately with grated Parmesan cheese on top if desired.
