Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Boil a pot of salted water and cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water and then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden brown, about 2 minutes.
3. Stir in the red pepper flakes and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
4. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss to coat in the garlic oil. If the pasta seems dry, gradually add some reserved pasta water until it reaches your desired consistency.
5. Season with salt to taste and toss in the chopped parsley.
6. Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
