Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Boil a large pot of salted water and cook spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden and fragrant, about 2 minutes.
3. Add the red pepper flakes and cook for an additional 30 seconds, stirring constantly.
4. Toss the drained spaghetti into the skillet with the garlic oil. Mix well, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time until the desired consistency is reached.
5. Season with salt to taste and garnish with chopped parsley.
6. Serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
