Ingredients:
- 400g spaghetti- 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente.2. While the pasta cooks, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden brown, being careful not to burn it.
3. Stir in the red pepper flakes and cook for an additional minute.
4. Once the spaghetti is cooked, reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
5. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the garlic oil, tossing to coat. If it seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water until desired consistency is reached.
6. Season with salt to taste and toss again.
7. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
