Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

A simple and classic Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and red pepper flakes. Preparation Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Boil a pot of salted water and cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente.
2. While the pasta cooks, heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic to the pan and sauté until it turns golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Be careful not to burn it.
4. Stir in the red pepper flakes and cook for an additional minute.
5. Once the spaghetti is cooked, reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water and then drain the pasta.
6. Add the drained spaghetti to the pan with garlic and oil, tossing to combine.
7. If needed, add a splash of reserved pasta water to help coat the spaghetti.
8. Season with salt to taste and garnish with fresh parsley and Parmesan cheese if desired.
9. Serve immediately and enjoy your meal!
