Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
recipe
A classic Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and chili flakes. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
2. While the pasta is cooking, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic to the skillet and sauté until it turns golden brown, being careful not to burn it.
4. Stir in the red pepper flakes and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
5. Drain the cooked spaghetti, reserving a little pasta water.
6. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss well to combine with the garlic oil. If the pasta seems dry, add a splash of reserved pasta water.
7. Season with salt to taste and toss in chopped parsley.
8. Serve immediately, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
