A classic Italian pasta dish that is simple yet flavorful, made with garlic, olive oil, and chili flakes. Preparation time: 20 minutes
Serving size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 400g spaghetti
- 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red chili flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil and sliced garlic. Sauté until the garlic is golden brown, about 2-3 minutes, being careful not to burn it.
3. Add the red chili flakes to the skillet and cook for another 30 seconds.
4. Toss the drained spaghetti into the skillet and mix well, adding reserved pasta water as needed to create a light sauce. Season with salt to taste.
5. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
