Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red chili flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced garlic and sauté until golden and fragrant, about 2-3 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
3. Stir in red chili flakes and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
4. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet, tossing to coat in the garlic oil. If the pasta seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water.
5. Season with salt to taste and toss in chopped parsley.
6. Serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
