Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

A simple, yet flavorful Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and chili flakes. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 400g spaghetti
- 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Cook the spaghetti in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden, about 2 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
3. Add the red pepper flakes and cook for another 30 seconds.
4. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet along with the reserved pasta water, and toss to combine. Cook for 1-2 minutes until heated through.
5. Season with salt to taste and garnish with chopped parsley. Serve with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
