Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
recipe

A classic Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and red pepper flakes.
Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2 servings
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until it becomes golden and fragrant, about 2-3 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
3. Add the red pepper flakes and sauté for an additional 30 seconds.
4. Toss the drained spaghetti in the skillet with the garlic and oil mixture. If the pasta seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water until you reach your desired consistency.
5. Season with salt to taste and mix well.
6. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if using.
7. Serve immediately.
