Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

A deliciously simple Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and chili flakes. Preparation Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients:
- 400g spaghetti
- 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Cook the spaghetti in a large pot of salted boiling water according to the package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until it turns golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
3. Add the red pepper flakes and sauté for another 30 seconds.
4. Toss the cooked spaghetti into the skillet, adding a splash of reserved pasta water to help combine. Season with salt to taste.
5. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped parsley.
6. Serve hot, garnished with additional parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
