Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
recipe

A classic Italian pasta dish that's quick, simple, and full of flavor. Perfect for a weeknight dinner.
Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 400g spaghetti
- 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
- Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking until the garlic is golden and fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.
3. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet, tossing to coat in the garlic oil. If needed, add some reserved pasta water to help the sauce adhere to the pasta.
4. Season with salt to taste, and toss in the chopped parsley.
5. Serve immediately, garnished with additional parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
