Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
recipe
A quick and flavorful Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and red pepper flakes. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 4
Ingredients:
- 400g spaghetti - 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the rest. 2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking until the garlic is golden but not burnt.
3. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet, tossing to combine with the garlic oil. If the pasta seems dry, add some reserved pasta water until you reach the desired consistency.
4. Season with salt to taste and toss in the chopped parsley.
5. Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
