Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
3. Add the red pepper flakes and stir for another 30 seconds.
4. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet, along with a splash of the reserved pasta water. Toss to combine, ensuring the spaghetti is well coated in the garlic oil.
5. Season with salt to taste and toss in the chopped parsley for garnish.
6. Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
