Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
recipe
A classic Italian pasta dish made with simple ingredients, perfect for a quick meal. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 4
Ingredients:
- 400g spaghetti
- 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden brown, about 2 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
3. Add the red pepper flakes and sauté for another 30 seconds.
4. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet along with a splash of the reserved pasta water. Toss to combine, ensuring the spaghetti is evenly coated in the garlic oil.
5. Season with salt to taste, and add more pasta water if needed to loosen the sauce.
6. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired. Serve immediately.
