Ingredients:
- 400g spaghetti
- 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- ½ cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
- Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil and sliced garlic. Sauté until the garlic is golden brown and fragrant, about 2-3 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
3. Add the red pepper flakes to the skillet and stir for about 30 seconds.
4. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss to coat in the garlic oil. If needed, add some reserved pasta water to help combine.
5. Season with salt to taste. Toss in the chopped parsley and mix well.
6. Serve immediately, garnished with additional parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
