Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
recipe
A classic Italian pasta dish made with simple ingredients: garlic, olive oil, and chili flakes. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2 servings
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden and fragrant, about 2 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
4. Stir in the red pepper flakes and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
5. Once the spaghetti is done, reserve 1 cup of pasta water and drain the rest.
6. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the garlic oil. Toss to coat the pasta evenly.
7. If the pasta seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water to achieve the desired consistency.
8. Season with salt to taste and toss in the chopped parsley.
9. Serve hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
