Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
- Grated Parmesan cheese, optional
Instructions:
1. Cook the spaghetti in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta water, then drain the pasta.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden brown, being careful not to burn it.
3. Add the red pepper flakes and sauté for another 30 seconds.
4. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet along with the reserved pasta water. Toss to combine, ensuring the spaghetti is well coated with the garlic oil.
5. Season with salt to taste and toss in the chopped parsley.
6. Serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
