Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water and then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large frying pan over medium heat, add the olive oil and sliced garlic. Sauté until the garlic is golden, being careful not to burn it.
3. Add the red pepper flakes to the pan and stir for about 30 seconds.
4. Toss the drained spaghetti into the pan with the garlic oil. If the pasta seems dry, add some reserved pasta water. Mix well to coat the spaghetti evenly.
5. Season with salt to taste and garnish with chopped parsley.
6. Serve hot, with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
