A simple yet flavorful Italian pasta dish featuring garlic and olive oil. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 400g spaghetti
- 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
- Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden brown, being careful not to burn it.
3. Add the red pepper flakes and sauté for an additional 30 seconds.
4. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss to combine, adding reserved pasta water as needed to achieve a creamy texture.
5. Season with salt to taste and remove from heat.
6. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve with grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.
