Ingredients:
- 400g spaghetti
- 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
- Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil and sliced garlic. Sauté the garlic until it turns golden brown, being careful not to burn it.
3. Stir in the red pepper flakes and cook for an additional minute.
4. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss to coat in the garlic oil. If the pasta seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water until desired consistency is reached.
5. Season with salt to taste and remove from heat.
6. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
