Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
recipe

A classic Italian pasta dish made with just a few simple ingredients. Perfect for a quick and flavorful meal.
Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2

Ingredients:

- Spaghetti (200g)
- Olive oil (4 tablespoons)
- Garlic (4 cloves, thinly sliced)
- Red pepper flakes (1 teaspoon)
- Fresh parsley (a handful, chopped)
- Salt (to taste)
- Parmesan cheese (grated, for serving, optional)

Instructions:

1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic to the skillet and sauté until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
4. Stir in the red pepper flakes and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
5. Once the spaghetti is cooked, reserve about 1/2 cup of pasta water and then drain the pasta.
6. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the garlic oil. Toss well to coat the pasta. If needed, add some reserved pasta water to help combine.
7. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped parsley. Season with salt to taste.
8. Serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
