Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
recipe

A classic Italian pasta dish with garlic and olive oil.
Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2 servings
Ingredients:
- Spaghetti (200g)
- Olive oil (4 tablespoons)
- Garlic (4 cloves, thinly sliced)
- Red pepper flakes (1 teaspoon)
- Parsley (fresh, chopped, 2 tablespoons)
- Salt (to taste)
- Parmesan cheese (grated, for serving, optional)
Instructions:
1. Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente.
2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic to the skillet and sauté until golden brown, about 2 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
4. Add red pepper flakes to the skillet and stir for an additional 30 seconds.
5. Once the pasta is cooked, reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
6. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss to coat in the garlic oil.
7. If the pasta seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water until desired consistency is reached.
8. Remove from heat, stir in chopped parsley, and season with salt to taste.
9. Serve immediately with grated Parmesan cheese on top, if desired.
