Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

A simple yet flavorful Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and red pepper flakes. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2 servings
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Boil a pot of salted water and cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water and then drain the spaghetti.
2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic to the pan and sauté until golden brown, being careful not to burn it.
4. Stir in the red pepper flakes and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
5. Add the drained spaghetti to the pan and toss to combine, adding reserved pasta water as needed to help the sauce coat the pasta.
6. Season with salt to taste.
7. Serve immediately, garnished with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.
