Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

A classic Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and chili flakes. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2 servings
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
2. While the pasta cooks, heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden, being careful not to burn it.
3. Add the red pepper flakes to the pan and stir for about 30 seconds.
4. Once the spaghetti is cooked, reserve a cup of pasta water and drain the rest.
5. Add the drained spaghetti to the pan with the garlic oil. Toss well to coat, adding reserved pasta water as needed to achieve desired consistency.
6. Season with salt to taste.
7. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
