Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
recipe
A classic Italian pasta dish with garlic, olive oil, and a hint of chili. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2 servings
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente.
2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic to the skillet and sauté until golden brown, being careful not to burn it.
4. Stir in the red pepper flakes and cook for another minute.
5. Once the spaghetti is cooked, reserve a cup of pasta water and then drain the pasta.
6. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the garlic oil. Toss to combine, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time if needed to help coat the pasta.
7. Season with salt to taste and toss in the chopped parsley.
8. Serve hot, with grated Parmesan cheese on top if desired.
