Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
recipe

A traditional Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and red pepper flakes.
Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2 servings

Ingredients:

- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions:

1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente.
2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic to the skillet and sauté until golden brown, being careful not to burn it.
4. Stir in the red pepper flakes and cook for another 30 seconds.
5. Once the spaghetti is cooked, reserve about 1/2 cup of the pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
6. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet, tossing it with the garlic oil mixture.
7. If the pasta seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water. Season with salt to taste.
8. Serve immediately, garnished with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.
