Ingredients:
- 400g spaghetti
- 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
- Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving (optional)
Instructions:
1. Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente.
2. While the spaghetti is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic to the skillet and sauté until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
4. Stir in the red pepper flakes and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
5. Once the spaghetti is cooked, reserve 1 cup of pasta water and then drain the spaghetti.
6. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the garlic oil. Toss well to combine, adding reserved pasta water as needed to create a silky sauce.
7. Season with salt to taste.
8. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped parsley. Serve immediately with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
