A simple yet flavorful Italian pasta dish featuring garlic and olive oil.

Ingredients:

- 400g spaghetti
- 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions:

1. Cook the spaghetti in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes to the skillet, cooking until the garlic is golden brown, about 2 minutes.
4. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet, tossing to coat in the garlic oil.
5. If the pasta seems dry, add small amounts of reserved pasta water until the desired consistency is reached.
6. Season with salt to taste and toss in the chopped parsley.
7. Serve hot, with grated Parmesan cheese on top if desired.
