Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
recipe
A classic Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and chili flakes, perfect for a quick and flavorful meal. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2 servings
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
2. While the pasta cooks, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden brown, being careful not to burn it.
3. Add the red pepper flakes to the skillet and stir for about 30 seconds.
4. Once the spaghetti is cooked, reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
5. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the garlic oil. Toss well to combine, adding reserved pasta water as needed to create a sauce.
6. Season with salt to taste and toss in chopped parsley.
7. Serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
