Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

A simple and classic Italian pasta dish with garlic, olive oil, and chili flakes. Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Serving Size: 2 servings
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic to the skillet and sauté until it turns golden brown, being careful not to burn it.
4. Stir in the red pepper flakes and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
5. Once the spaghetti is cooked, reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta water and then drain the pasta.
6. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the garlic and oil. Toss to combine, adding reserved pasta water as needed to create a light sauce.
7. Season with salt to taste and garnish with chopped parsley. Serve with grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.
