Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
- Grated Parmesan cheese, optional
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil, then cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the rest.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking until the garlic is golden and fragrant, about 2 minutes.
3. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet, tossing to coat in the oil and garlic mixture. If the pasta seems dry, gradually add reserved pasta water until desired consistency is reached.
4. Season with salt to taste and toss in the chopped parsley.
5. Serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
