Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

Serving Size: 2 servings
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes, and sauté until the garlic is golden but not burnt, about 2 minutes.
3. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet. Toss to combine, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time until the pasta is evenly coated and the desired consistency is reached.
4. Season with salt to taste and remove from heat.
5. Serve immediately, garnished with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
