Ingredients:
- 400g spaghetti
- 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
3. Stir in the red pepper flakes and cook for an additional minute.
4. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet, along with a splash of the reserved pasta water. Toss to combine, ensuring the pasta is well-coated in the garlic oil.
5. Season with salt to taste.
6. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
