Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

A simple yet delicious Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and chili flakes. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2 servings
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red chili flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 1-2 minutes until golden brown, being careful not to burn it.
4. Stir in the red chili flakes and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
5. Drain the spaghetti, reserving a little pasta water.
6. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the garlic oil. Toss to combine, adding a splash of reserved pasta water if needed to help coat the pasta.
7. Season with salt to taste.
8. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
