Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
recipe
A classic Italian pasta dish that is quick and simple, made with garlic, olive oil, and chili flakes. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 4
Ingredients:
- 400g spaghetti
- 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic to the skillet and sauté until golden brown, being careful not to burn it.
4. Stir in the red pepper flakes and cook for another minute.
5. Once the spaghetti is cooked, reserve 1 cup of pasta water and then drain the pasta.
6. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the garlic oil. Toss to combine.
7. If the pasta seems dry, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until the desired consistency is achieved.
8. Season with salt to taste and garnish with chopped parsley.
9. Serve hot with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
