Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
- Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes to the skillet and sauté until the garlic is golden and fragrant, about 2 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
4. Once the spaghetti is cooked, reserve about 1/2 cup of the pasta water, then drain the pasta.
5. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the garlic oil. Toss to combine, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time until the desired consistency is reached.
6. Season with salt to taste and remove from heat.
7. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
