Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
recipe

A classic Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and chili flakes.
Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 4 servings
Recipe:
- 400g spaghetti
- 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta cooking water and then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until it turns golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
3. Add the red pepper flakes and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
4. Toss the drained spaghetti into the skillet with the garlic oil. Add a splash of the reserved pasta water to help combine the ingredients. Stir well to coat the spaghetti in the oil.
5. Season with salt to taste and continue to cook for another 1-2 minutes.
6. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped parsley. Serve immediately with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
