Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
recipe
A classic Italian pasta dish featuring garlic, olive oil, and a hint of red pepper flakes. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 400g spaghetti
- 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
2. While the pasta is cooking, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden and fragrant, about 2-3 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
4. Stir in the red pepper flakes and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
5. Once the pasta is cooked, reserve 1 cup of pasta water and then drain the spaghetti.
6. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the garlic oil, tossing to combine. If the pasta seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water until desired consistency is reached.
7. Season with salt to taste and toss in chopped parsley.
8. Serve hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
