Recipe:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
- Salt to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Cook the spaghetti in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente, according to package instructions.
2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic to the skillet and sauté until golden brown, being careful not to burn it.
4. Stir in the red pepper flakes and cook for another minute.
5. Once the spaghetti is cooked, reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
6. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the garlic and oil, tossing to combine.
7. If the pasta seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water until desired consistency is reached.
8. Season with salt to taste and garnish with fresh parsley.
9. Serve hot, with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
